A fond farewell to the old workshop. Locals here in Labasheeda hold many memories of the old building and the people who worked and lived there. One of its uses in the past was for building coffins. (Incidentally, there was also a premises in the village where the coffins were lined.) A neighbour also told me that as a young boy he used to call into the workshop and have his hurley fixed by the carpenter. We are honoured that locals have shared many memories with us so far. We hope to breathe new life onto this site and although a new building will stand here, we hope the memories and stories will once again come to life over a chat and a cuppa in our new tea rooms.
To be continued……….
